Looking for More of Everything? The Mercedes-Benz GLS Is the SUV You Want
Add to the list of things we’re looking forward to is the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS. The first look at this remarkable three-row SUV is making us salivate. Coming to Mercedes-Benz of Farmington in a few months.
The 2027 GLS is more powerful, has more technology and ... just more.
More Tech
The GLS now has three 12.3-inch screens that stretch across the dashboard. Behind this “Superscreen” is upgraded MB.OS software. This is what folks mean when they say new vehicles are basically computers on wheels.
The MB.OS software runs just about everything on this vehicle and integrates all systems, providing the basis for Mercedes’ stellar MBUX and MB.Drive. It runs the driver assistance features, infotainment and Augmented Reality for Navigation through Google Maps, and more. It connects the GLS wirelessly to facilitate software updates and even communicates with other Mercedes vehicles. Of course, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is part of the package as a digital assistant.
For rear-seat passengers, there’s an entertainment system with two 11.6-inch displays that provide control for things you may not have realized you need: seat adjustments and infotainment options, including video games, streaming and even video conferencing.
More Performance
There are two engines:
- GLS580 has a 4.0-liter V8 sporting 530 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque – does zero-60 mph in 4.6 seconds.
- GLS480 has a 3.0-liter inline six offering 375 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque – does zero-60 mph in 5.4 seconds.
- Both assisted by a 48-volt mild hybrid system that increases horsepower by 23 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque.
- 4MATIC all-wheel drive with Torque on Demand
More Driver Assistance and Safety
If you get the feeling sometimes that drivers are becoming superfluous (not really!) the 2027 GLS might convince you:
- MB.DRIVE and MB.DRIVE ASSIST intelligent driver assistance systems are standard equipment.
- MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO, MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST and MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST 360 are available.
- Air Suspension upgraded with a cloud-based system that literally catalogs and remembers bumps in the road – even communicates them with other M-B vehicles.
- Enhanced hands-free driving capability with 10 exterior cameras, five radar sensors and 12 ultrasonic sensors.
More Comfort, Luxury, Style
The Mercedes-Benz GLS delivers, with seating for seven in three power-adjustable rows. The insulated cabin blocks noise to near nothingness. Outside there’s a new grille and illuminated chrome surround. The distinctive three-point Mercedes-Benz star is seen in the headlights and throughout the interior.
We’re looking forward to being able to show you this exemplary SUV soon.
