Mercedes-Benz just unveiled its 2023 GLC midsize SUV on June 1st, and it’s a stunner: beautiful, efficient, and capable of off-roading. The GLC is Mercedes’ bestseller in the compact SUV class, so this extensive update is a pretty big deal. It will be coming to Mercedes-Benz of Farmington later this year.
Two trim levels: a base GLC 300 rear-wheel drive and GLC 300 4MATIC® AWD. AMG® variants and a plug-in hybrid are in the future. New 2-liter twin-turbo engine with mild-hybrid assist generating 258-hp and 295 lb-ft of torque; integrated starter generator provides power boost at low RPMs. Nine-speed automatic transmission. Estimated acceleration of 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph. 12.3 horizontal digital instrument cluster and 11.9-inch high-res LCD touchscreen displaying navigation and infotainment. The heads-up display is an option. Second-gen learn-capable MBUX with Classic, Sport, and Understated display styles and Navigation, Assistance, Service, and Off-Road modes. The built-in fingerprint scanner allows personalization. Off-Road Mode displays information about topography; “Transparent Hood” shows a virtual view under the front of the vehicle at very low speeds. “Hey, Mercedes!” voice assistant offers help, customized music and news, and easy connectivity to communication. Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC maintains a preset distance from vehicles in front Active Steering Assist, including lane detection Traffic Sign Assist to recognize overhead and construction signs Parking package with 360-degree camera Optional DIGITAL LIGHT headlamp technology offers targeted light distribution based on exterior conditions, including highlighting pedestrians with spotlight.
With Mercedes-Benz, comfort is paramount. The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC’s aerodynamics and acoustical optimization make for a quiet vehicle. Heated front seats are standard. Ambient lighting is standard with 64 colors, 10 brightness levels, and three brightness zones. The new panoramic sunroof is optional. Optional Burmester® 3D surround- sound system has 15 premium speakers.
Families and sports enthusiasts will appreciate The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC’s improved cargo room, which increased to almost 22 cubic feet. Rear seats can be configured at 40:20:40 and are unlocked electrically. EASY-PACK tailgate opens and closes with the touch of a button on the ignition key is standard.
