Mercedes EQS SUV Is the Electric Ute We’ve Been Hoping For | Mercedes-Benz of Farmington

Published on May 24, 2022 by Mercedes-Benz of Farmington

Mercedes-Benz continues rolling into the all-electric future with the new EQS SUV. With many similarities to the recently introduced EQS Sedan (recently recognized as World Luxury Car of the Year), this amazing vehicle can seat seven adults. As CNET put it: Take all the goodness of the EQS sedan and make it larger – that’s the EQS SUV in a nutshell.”  It will be at Mercedes-Benz of Farmington this autumn.

Maximum Power, Minimum Drag

The styling is as sleek as it comes. That’s partly because Mercedes-Benz vehicles are always well-designed but more importantly, everything was done to cut down on drag, which would lower the EQS SUV’s efficiency. Even the running boards are integrated to be as aerodynamic as possible, and the wheel covers are closed for the same reason.

There are two trims, both using the same 107.8-kWh battery that can charge from 10-80% in a half-hour or overnight at home on 240-volt power to 100% in 11.25 hrs.

EQS 450 Plus RWD with single rear-axle motor offering 355 hp and 419 lb-ft of torque EQS 580 4MATIC® offering 536 hp and 633 lb-ft of torque Anticipated range of 373 miles 10-degree rear-axle steering enables tighter turns

Cool and Useful Tech

Mercedes-Benz loads on the technology for comfort, safety, and infotainment. The EQS SUV’s front interior is dominated by the Hyperscreen (optional on the 450/standard on the 580). It covers side to side, integrating the gauges and infotainment but also a screen just for the passenger. The vehicle can sense if the driver is sneaking a peek and will darken the screen. There are also screens on the back of the front seats for second-row passengers.

Sound is through the Burmester 3D audio system with Dolby Atmos technology, and you can access your own tunes or podcasts through Apple CarPlay® or Android™ Auto. Voice-activated navigation comes with Electric Intelligence giving route maps, traffic conditions, and charging info. The EQS SUV recognizes up to seven individual profiles via a fingerprint sensor.

Keeping You Safe and Comfortable

Standard safety and driver assistance features include active driving assist, active brake assist, evasive steering assist,  active blind spot assist, plus parking assist with a surround-view camera.

The EQS SUV even helps you deal with stress. It’s three “Energizing Nature” programs emit natural sounds and fragrances. The 64-color ambient lighting helps, too, along with an optional package that offers a heated steering wheel, rear seats, and windshield. Luxurious leather and rosewood provide the comfort factor. As an EV, the EQS SUV is already pretty quiet, but optional insulated glass helps make the interior even quieter. According to Edmunds, “Even at highway speeds, the EQS  SUV is supremely quiet, with wind, tire, and road noise all virtually undetectable.”

If you’re ready to go all-in on an electrified future, it’s coming this fall to Mercedes-Benz of Farmington. Get more details about this amazing, electric 2023 Mercedes EQS SUV
