How Waiting Will Pay off With the New Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain | Mercedes-Benz of Farmington

Published on Sep 29, 2023 by Mercedes-Benz of Farmington

Consider this your “Save the Date” notice for the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain wagon. It arrives next year at Mercedes-Benz of Farmington.

The E-Class All-Terrain comes with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive, AIRMATIC® air suspension, and an Off-Road driving program as standard equipment. These are complemented by a rugged look enhanced with design elements such as a unique front grille, bumpers, chrome front and rear underride guard, and dark gray wheel arches.

Here are some things that make it special:

3.0-liter turbo inline six and 48-volt hybrid system making 375 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque  Zero-to-60 mph estimated at 4.6 seconds with a 130-mph top speed It’s bigger – 75 inches wide, 58.9 inches high and 195 inches long 18-wheels standard with 19 and 20-inch wheels optional Cargo room expands, with fold-down second-row seats in a 40:20:40 split, to between 21.7 cubic feet to 64.6 cubic feet EASY-PACK tailgate operated by key fob, driver-side door switch, or the tailgate handle

Inside is the optional sweeping MBUX Superscreen equipped with a 14.4-inch front passenger screen and operates independently of the separate 12.8-inch driver display. When the passenger seat is unoccupied, that screen becomes a decorative element.

A single powerful central onboard computer operates the screens and the MBUX infotainment system, standard on the new E-Class All-Terrain. It includes Mercedes Me connect services. Expect a high degree of interactivity and personalization. The optional Active Ambient Lighting with Sound Visualization makes sound a multisensory experience incorporating hearing, feeling, and visualizing with shifting light patterns. While the front passenger enjoys streaming video, the advanced camera-based privacy filter reduces driver distraction risks by dimming the passenger display.  Software is updated over the air.

Operating in Off-Road mode, there’s a special screen displaying data, control options, and key functions that operates in conjunction with the 360° camera and offers a “transparent hood” function that reveals a virtual view under the front of the E-Class All-Terrain to spot any obstacles. Choose between two screen display styles – Classic and Sport – and three driving modes – Navigation, Assistance, and Service. An Apple iPhone or watch can be used as the vehicle key, which can be shared with as many as 16 people.

The All-Terrain comes pre-loaded with apps on the central display, including TikTok, Angry Birds, Webex collaboration, Zoom video conferencing, and Vivaldi web browser, all of which can be used by the driver when the vehicle is at a stop. A.I. plays a big part in establishing routines that the vehicle recognizes and remembers, such as activating seat heaters and ambient lighting at a certain outdoor temperature.

Safety remains a Mercedes-Benz priority, and the 2024 E-Class All-Terrain has a raft of standard and available driver assistance systems.

Will it be worth the wait? How can it not be with so many great features? Mercedes-Benz of Farmington will keep you posted on its arrival next year.
